Announcing our investment in Doss.

The global economy inches forward every day. But the infrastructure it runs on has famously failed to keep up with the pace of modern technology.

A generation ago, relational databases enabled business software to thrive, and make the world legible. Today, businesses need more than reactive legibility. They need proactive insight and automation to change the way that business is done. Yet existing systems fall further and further behind what's possible.

Enter Doss, the "ERP that was promised."

Unlike traditional ERPs, DossARP (Adaptive Resource Platform) combines a system of record, custom workflow editor, and business intelligence tools into one powerful source of truth. This lets customers not only understand what's happening in their business — it lets them make decisions about the future. Knowing how to optimize the purchase of $10M of inventory in a warehouse, for example, can have enormous bottom-line impact.

Co-founders Wiley Jones and Arnav Mishra are entrepreneurs that have witnessed these issues first hand, dealing with manufacturing in China, designing medical devices, and organizing workflows for construction. We at Contrary have been close to Wiley and Arnav for nearly a decade, and were delighted to lead their seed round, alongside our good friend Tomasz Tungusz at Theory Ventures, who led their Series A.

Business systems like Oracle and SAP became some of the largest and most successful companies of the past century -- it's time to turn the page on the next evolution of ERP.
